Flying to the Stars - TEVET Sponsors Exhibit at Hands On! Discovery Center

Flying to the Stars - TEVET Sponsors Exhibit at Hands On! Discovery Center

Gray, TN - At TEVET, we love science, math, engineering, and anything you can create with your mind and your hands. We love questioning old standards, developing new ideas, and helping others create innovations and make discoveries. And each of us have loved this since we were kids. Most of us are still kids at heart!

Therefore, it is simple math (our passion + our capability = sharing this passion with our youth) when it comes to our support for the Hands On! Discovery Center. The Discovery Center offers immersive learning experiences for children and families from across our entire region by providing a place to explore, discover, and interact with fun exhibits. Exhibits include: a Tesla theatre, Eastman's chemistry lab, Quantum Space augmented reality center, a PVC Pipe Organ, and so much more!

And to top it off, TEVET supports the Air Rockets exhibit! Yes, kids can build their own rocket, place it on a launch pad, and lift off! They can learn about Newton's laws, test different air pressures, and experiment with different rocket designs. It is a true October Sky kind of exhibit.

(Oh! And by the way, the Discovery Center is combined with East Tennessee's very own active dinosaur dig site. Science and dinosaurs!)

TEVET is excited to partner with the Discovery Center to make science exciting to our local youth. For many students, this is their first encounter with the wonder of science, and for others, it might be their only encounter with it outside of the classroom. Creating these opportunities and sparking curiosity for students is truly rewarding for us and our HUBZone community. And to do it with a wonderful organization like Hands On! Discovery Center is a "no-brainer."
