TEVET Honored with HUBZone Small Business of the Year Award

TEVET Honored with HUBZone Small Business of the Year Award

Greeneville, TN – On January 17th, TEVET was honored with the HUBZone Small Business of the Year (Rural America) award. Nominations were collected from HUBZone Businesses, Major Defense Prime Contractors, and directly from government personnel. This is the second award TEVET has received at the national level from the HUBZone Council in TEVET’s 15+ years of business.

The HUBZone Council focuses on small businesses that support historically underutilized business zones, like TEVET, located in Greene County, TN. A Historically Under-Utilized Business Zone is determined by census information such as employment, average income, wages, etc. This year marks the 20th anniversary for the HUBZone Council.

TEVET is an industry leader in community involvement and outreach. A legacy of service to country, customer, and community provides a strong foundation for our goals within our community. Our culture and noble cause are centered around the goal of strengthening families. We do so through innovation, donations, volunteerism, employment, and listening to our employees on what drives them in our community. Our actions are taken on at both an organizational and individual level.

TEVET contributes financially and with volunteer hours to veterans causes like DAV, Greeneville High JROTC, Wreaths Across America, and the Marine Corps League, and is blessed to contribute to the following additional organizations: The Capitol Theatre, Niswonger Performing Arts Center, Greeneville’s Historic Society, Holston Home for Children, Hand’s On Children’s Museum, March for Babies, and the Greene County Humane Society.

At TEVET, we serve those who serve. This extends to our veterans (actively employed by TEVET or within our community), single-income families, children who have had a difficult life, young adults just starting out (service scholarships, internships, or employment), and so much more!

We have seen growth and development within our HUBZone, directly and indirectly, due to our service. For many, TEVET’s contributions help make their dreams possible. Businesses are flourishing; children are learning; the arts are being revitalized, and so much more. TEVET is prepping for further employment growth in 2020 with a new HQ.

"TEVET is a part of Greene County – our employees, our families, our home. It is an honor to support it and our fellow community members. Our success has always and will continue to be our community’s success,” stated Tracy Solomon, TEVET CEO. “It would not be possible without our world-class suppliers and customers who we consider 'partners' within our industry.  From the TEVET family and community, we thank you, and thank you to our community who supports us and the TEVET employees who put their hearts into their work and outreaches."
