On Feb. 3, 2015, the Department of Defense (DoD) and André Gudger, Director DoD Office of Small Business Programs, announced Rockwell Collins, Inc. and TEVET, LLC to be one of fourteen 2014 Nunn-Perry Award winners.

The DoD established the Mentor-Protégé program to help small businesses navigate the intricacies of competing for prime contract and subcontract awards through strategic partnerships with larger companies. The award is named in honor of former Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry.

Competition is extremely keen every year and this year was no exception for those making the evaluations. TEVET and Rockwell Collins have been paired through the Mentor-Protégé program since September 2012. Regarding the partnership, Tracy Solomon, CEO and President of TEVET, said “We have a fantastic relationship with Rockwell Collins… I have asked for mentoring assistance to better manage, motivate and reward our employees, as well as explore new areas of business where we can maintain a level of controlled growth.” TEVET and Rockwell Collin’s received the award during the formal Nunn-Perry Awards Ceremony, on March 12, 2015 at the Mark Center in Alexandria, Va.

Founded in 2004, TEVET, LLC is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned and HUBZone Small Business (SDVOSB) providing technology from industry leading manufacturers into the federal government, defense agencies (DOD / DOE) and major Federal Prime Contractors on a national basis.
