At the beginning of the month a TEVET strategic partner, Agilent Technologies announced their collaborations with University of Southern California (USC) Michelson Center for Convergent Bioscience to create a department that allows scientists and engineers to converge on multidisciplinary topics to improve health care through new drugs, diagnostics, and equipment. This department will be known as Agilent Center of Excellence (COE) in Biomolecular Characterization and will be housed on campus in the Michelson Hall.
The department will be a center for undergraduates, graduate students, and the community. It will provide further access to the latest Agilent instruments and researchers from a broad base of backgrounds and expertise. "Agilent's collaboration with the Michelson Center is an excellent example of how academia and industry can work together, sharing knowledge and expertise to shorten the timeline between scientific discoveries and real-world applications," said Darlene Solomon, senior vice president and chief technology officer for Agilent.
