US Navy NSWC Corona, US Marine Corps Air Station Yuma Test Range required a VSA to perform maintenance and troubleshoot RF equipment such as UHF/VHF Radios, Wireless Local Area Net-work (WLAN) 802.11a/b/g/n Radios, and RF Emitters.
TEVET engaged directly with the engineering team at Air Station Yuma to gain a full understanding of the application and test challenges they faced and conducted a full gap analysis to gain further insight to what was required for not only today’s need but also future capabilities they may have. Determining factors of the gap analysis for identifying the best COTS solution included not only selecting a high performance VSA that met all the current required specification, but also selecting an instrument provider that offered instrument platforms for future requirements. After evaluating several technologies from different instrumentation providers, TEVET settled on Keysight and their N9030A. In addition to meeting today’s need, we found that the Keysight PXA Series offered an extensive offering of RF and Analysis Software platforms for future modernization.
