Small Business Innovation - TEVET 's Onsite Marketplace at Y-12

Oak Ridge, TN - TEVET is bringing change to the ordering, handling, and distribution of parts and materials at Y-12. Instead of going to a vendor to shop for the items, the vendor (TEVET, and partner MSC) is coming to the end user at zero additional cost. This solution not only saves money, but it saves time and hassle.

The TEVET onsite solution is known as vendor-managed inventory. Essentially, the parts and materials are housed at the point of use. Think of it as an onsite marketplace. TEVET manages the inventory and ensures that stock levels are maintained. The ordered items are then easily delivered to the end user. Payment is rendered upon delivery. By doing so, Y-12 overcomes procurement costs such as bulk ordering, shipment delays, redundant orders across departments, and expensive emergency orders.

Through TEVET's onsite presence, we are able to offer 1,000 approved MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) solutions. The MRO solutions come directly from our OEM partner, MSC. MSC Industrial Supply is the leading North American distributor for MRO products and services.
